EDIT: some more digging I found this website that said he did get arrested but provided no other info in regards to Lithuania, or for criticizing Ukraine. https://imi.org.ua/en/news/shariy-detained-in-spain-i45407 And so far, my opinion has changed to "misinformation" from "fake news"
The story is that he got arrested. Lithuania is irrelevant. In the article you linked Ukraine seems to admit this is why he was arrested. Your conclusion is unwarranted.
suspected of treason by the SSU
According to SSU investigators, he conducted illegal activities to the detriment of Ukraine's national security in the information sphere. There are grounds to believe, the SSU notes, that Shariy was acting on behalf of foreign structures.
the interviews and speeches of A. Shariy constitute subversive activities against Ukraine
Now you could argue that the headline and OP are misleading by not mentioning he's a Ukrainian citizen, but it's in the first line of the story.
I am quoting the article initially. Especially the part of Lithuania, which felt really off. My conclusion at the end shows I changed my mind from full fabrication to misinformation. Is that not the right thing to do when you get new information about something? Is it not natural for one to change their opinion based on new information?
