It's a school problem as well. Lots of class curriculums require apps now. I had to buy a phone for my oldest son freshman year specifically because it was the only way he could get things done in some mandatory classes.
I didn't get a phone until i was able to afford it on my own.
Bro, they don't 'require' jack shit for apps. I wouldn't be surprised if some fucking superintendent is getting kickbacks from companies for this bullshit.
Kids don't play with toys they have phones and tablets now.
Most parents can speak on the difficulties of keeping their kids off their phones, and of unopened Christmas presents.
This person doesn't even know anyone with kids.
That sounds like a parents problem.

What happens if you don't? What do poor families do?

"No"
I agree, they're propagandists repeating scripts from the 60's.
Holy shit, bro. We really are all living the same life.
My brother in Christ, you gave them the phone.
I knew this would get bogged down by hypothetical parenting.
I don't own a kid. I don't need to know what you would or should do about kids on phones.
Leave your imaginary parenting at the door and know that your inexperience is showing if you think kids play with toys.
