They're arguably misrepresenting the Buzzfeed article, too:

This makes it sound like something that definitely actually happened, but they're really using "enabled" in the sense of "can allow", not "did allow." See this article on it and you'll notice a lot of "can be [used]".
That is to say, they have no reason to believe that this ever actually happened. All they really said was "this is possible".
