I used to be more of an anarcho capitalist but that seems unrealistic but ideally I’d like to see multiple voluntary societies.
Heh, I think many of us took the same path. It's one reason I'm such a big fan of Eric July. AnCap is still my dominating philosophy for the ideal system of governance, but I don't believe it's something fully achievable until we're in Heaven or the new kingdom. Humans aren't there yet. I do still subscribe to Voluntarism and parallel law and believe those ideas will work in smaller nation-states.
Basically if I ever have a chance to vote or do anything that incrementally moves us towards Ancapistan - I'll take it - but I'm not expecting that to be the final outcome. Everything always (d)evolves to a State. There are good reasons for that. Saying we can eliminate the State is kinda like saying we can get rid of Money or Religion. They are fundamental aspects of Human nature that will always exist in some form.
Agreed. I’m a big Eric July fan as well. I know he has become more pragmatic and supports whatever gives the most freedom and I guess I have as well. You think his comic book will be good?
I'm sure it will be totally entertaining (almost everything from comicsgate/indies is better than Marvel/DC) but I think it's true potential won't be reached until he's put out a few volumes and other character arcs. That's when the Rippaverse shines.
What I was kinda disappointed about is that he doesn't plan to make a comics empire and publish/distribute works of other artists outside the Rippaverse. I'm hoping success goes to his head and drives him to build that empire anyway. ;)
Same here. I hope he changes his mind. Plus he should work with Nerdrotic since I know he will open a store for back issues here in Texas. I do remember he said if he ever makes it big he would buy DC or something like that
