While trying to find independent reporting on the Ukraine war, I came across a Telegram channel called Mango Press that had just been banned from Twitter. It didn't take long to see that it was an actual commie outlet hyping up China and North Korea, as well as Russia and Palestine for some reason. I think tankie is the right word, but who knows.
Their reaction to the viral videos from the Shanghai lockdown has been amusing. According to them all the government measures are totally necessary given that China has only incurred 4k deaths from covid, whereas America was ravaged by covid and is still handling Omicron poorly. Also this is the fault of Shanghai's westernized leaders who prized capitalist activity over judicious safety measures. Probably the funniest thing I read was that the elderly are diligently being cared for.
Recently they posted a video of Shanghai residents celebrating the partial lift of the lockdown. Since this apparently means China Good, it was time to get out the heart emojis.
The entire channel is fascinating, but I guess the major takeaway for me is that people who style themselves as real commies are just as stupid as the average bugman. The propaganda about China itself is par for the course, but there were American residents claiming that covid was a real threat in the US and that we sacrificed our elders for the sake of freedom. Uh yeah, sure.
This is the thing that gets me.
Did they ask those elders if they were okay with everybody's freedoms being revoked in their name? Maybe I missed it because I'm British, but I'm fairly sure that nobody over here actually asked those elderly we're protecting if that's what they wanted. Speaking to my mum, it certainly isn't what she would have chosen if anybody bothered to ask her, but they didn't, such was their haste to imprison the entire country.
Freedom means what the Party says it means, because the Party represents the will of the people.
This is possibly THE reason why every commie regime always ends in extreme totalitarianism. The idea is that everyone votes on everything, but that's very obviously infeasible, because you'd have people voting on things they've never even heard about and that don't impact them, and you'd need to do so many votes, nobody would have time to do anything else but vote. So the basic idea of the people democratically controlling society goes right out the window immediately and now you need some representatives. The representatives then claim to represent the people, but they don't, they represent themselves and their own neuroses, but they're untouchable, because "they represent the people", which means anyone against them is against the people, which means he must be destroyed. The party has the mandate to control every single facet of every single person's life, because they (claim to) represent that person, so it's not oppressive, it's the same as every single person making decisions for himself, the same way you moving your own fingers isn't oppressive even though the fingers aren't moving by themselves, it's your brain doing it.
This is literally what communists actually believe. It's completely insane, yes.
Commies are dumber than bugmen because they think they will be the ones giving orders to bugmen. They think parroting the same propaganda points than everyone else is going to give them special treatment somehow
I'm especially proud of our leaders like Stretchin Gretchen, Dickless Levine, and Cuomo the Grabby Goomba for sacrificing our elders in nursing homes for the safety of us all.
While conveniently removing their elders from the old folks homes before enacting any policy doing so- they only sacrificed our elders, not theirs.
It just continues to justify what i have always said:

The usual defense, praise or support for one, usually comes with the support for the other. So it is not out of place their support for China incurring support for the other despotic places.
