The Lublin Triangle is a pact between Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania that expressly advocates for Ukraine to become a member of NATO and the European Union.
It was created at the end of July 2020, while everyone was distracted by More Feminine Flu.
Ukraine joining NATO was a known red line for the Russian government, so doing this is basically an act of war in Russian eyes.
It was created in response to an addition to the Ukrainian constitution by the pre-Poroshenko government (this leadership has a connection to the Feminine Way, but I'll ignore that because I want this post to not degenerate into stupid slap fights with ConPro) that declared they would attempt to join NATO and the EU by 2025.
This is why the viral video of Russia talking about escalation involved invading Poland and Lithuania. Because Russia knows what games Zelensky has been playing while everyone's distracted.
The truth of the war is, Ukraine made the first step towards war and nobody seems interested in covering it.
If you know what you're doing is right, why would you do it while everyone's distracted?
The truth of the war is, Ukraine made the first step towards war and nobody seems interested in covering it.
This wasn't the first step towards war. Ukraine didn't put themselves on this path by deciding in 2018 that they would try to join the EU; they did it by overthrowing the pro-Russian, ethnically Russian president in 2014 for obstructing Kyiv's aspirations to join the EU. If not for the Maidan revolution being a rather overt act of anti-Russian regime change (one that every Western conservative should have condemned, if only for the fact that the populations of urban centres like Washington, D.C. and London are far more leftist than the general population, and letting them overthrow any democratically elected government they don't like would mean the end of conservatism in government), Ukraine aligning itself with the EU and NATO would just be another disillusioned post-Soviet country seeking greener pastures.
The truth of the war is, Ukraine made the first step towards war and nobody seems interested in covering it.
Reminder that this war started in 2014. Admittedly, it also started with Ukraine making first steps to get away from Russia, but that only serves to remind us why every country on Russian border wants to have as little as possible to do with Russia.
There were never intending to start it. They were intending on Russia being so weak that they would get the chance to join the EU and NATO, thus making them invulnerable to Russia and able to leverage the power of both organizations to make them stronger in negotiations with Russia. This is all about the gas pipelines, trade networks with the east/west, and warm water ports. Ukraine is the Troy and Russia is the Greeks.
Russia is a failing nation state. They acted because they had no choice but to act soon, as the condition of their armies, economy, and infrastructure will only deteriorate further. Covid was extremely hard on thirdworld economies and Russia is one of the largest. If they did not act now, by the time Ukraine was in a strong position with both the EU and NATO, they could not act, not even to defend themselves.
They are pathetic. This whole situation is pathetic. Dying old men playing at being conquering heroes with the blood of children.
There is actually an interest, but it's buried in realpolitik
Russia wants to remain the sole European petroleum economy. Unfortunately for Russia, there's some decent prospects in Ukranian territory, so an - in Russian eyes - out of control Ukraine threaten's Russia's most effective geopolitical bargaining tool.
Under that reading of it, there's not any actual "good guys" anywhere to be found in this story, but that is the way realpolitik tends to go. For starters, Russia's strategic interests demand that the Ukraine is condemned to existence in abject poverty as a perpetual buffer state for Russia's exclusive benefit. More-or-less what the Soviet Union did with East Germany.
It's not difficult to spot Ukraine's interest in moving itself into the NATO camp, even if this does result in armed conflict ... particularly if they can convince NATO to do the fighting for them.
Cry about it, I'll not be changing my language to suit the left.
I learnt a man was a man, a woman a woman. And I learnt it as 'the ukraine'. It seems to rile up all the right people almost as much, so I might start saying it more.
What benefit does Ukraine have in starting this war
This is something I don't know. Unless they were hoping the US would destroy Russia entirely for them, which is a delusion that rivals that of our "better halves" with their fictional oppression.
The only answers I can come up with are conspiracy theories.
If America treated Canada and Mexico the same way Russia treated the other neighboring countries. Yes. I would completely understand it. But we know for a fact America did not commit genocide, or drove those countries to the ground and then stepped on them.
I highly suggest you check the history of those countries, even the suspected crash of a Polish plane in Russia years ago. You will see that these countries want nothing to do with Russia. Do not forget also when Russia provoked them years ago too. Even after they joined nato. Or how Russia constantly sends ships and planes violating their airspace. Sometimes they intercept nato planes and do unsafe maneuvers. Maneuvers that have caused plane crashes in the past(airbus crash in New York months after 9/11 is one example of what turbulence caused by engine can cause).
Japan just had two of such cases that got reported only this month. One for helicopters and another for ships days later.
Ukraine for all its massive faults, for all the NPCs that support it, it is the lesser of two evils.
If you are feeling lazy, company of heroes ii did a good representation of some of the stuff Russia pulled in wwii. To the point the game got banned in russia(unsure if it is still banned).

watch your heros, youre a real piece of work if you support them after this
NATO is ultimately the US's bitch. Poland, Ukraine, and Lithuania can form whatever. If the US told them to fuck off, that would have ended any possibility of Ukraine joining NATO which means they won't get a Russian invasion.
Welcome back by the way

"the Ukraine" youre such a tool.
Thank you for your constructive comment that definitely advanced the conversation.

ukraine isnt the player in this little operation. hope that was helpful
If you knew the history these countries have with Russia, you would absolutely understand why they want to join nato.
But you wouldn't want a CCP allied Mexico or Canada, would you?
It's understandable that Russia drew a red line at having a US satellite state a few miles from their border.
Lithuania and Poland joined NATO years ago. Ukraine is the issue, and they knew it when they signed the pact.

Plus everyone forgets that Russia just walked in and took Crimea.
Comment Reported for: Rule 12 - Falsehoods
Comment Approved: So, the US has arguably committed a genocide, but not against Canadians or Mexicans, so I don't think this is valid.
he should also get reported for posting his practical zelensky fanfic all over kia
rule 17: anyone sucking zelenskys cock gets an automatic report for being a total MSM spewing faggot

Evidence for it? Or is it like the 10% of the Ukraine army that I am still waiting?
whatever you do dont watch that video of russians commiting war crimes, it would prove your propoganda right.
