That's not going to happen, and they know that's not going to happen. The West has used up all its leverage. If they actually cared about their people, they'd be looking for an armistice/peace like mad, instead of trying to fight to the last drop of their people's blood.
Presumably because they ran out of trained civilians to hand them out to, not that I am familiar with how the handing out procedure went on. If your latter claim is accurate, chances are they were trained civilians, given that your average ex-USSR thug did go through conscription service.

Not some minor stomping on a country with vastly inferior military that would degenerate into dealing with insurgency after cleaning up the country in few days, but actual war against opponent that has far superior firepower on paper. Now, I am sure if one day your country gets invaded by opponent with comparable firepower (let alone greater one), the first thing you will do is lift white flag and wave it around while fleeing for your life, but sometimes governments don't like it.
