Ideally they would form their own strategic alliance. The Russian Touchers Strategic Alliance wouldn't threaten Russia but would also have sufficient resources to jointly defend against Russia. And it would behoove both NATO and Russia to keep them denuclearized. Unfortunately we don't live in that world so here we are.
Those countries have no funds for it. And even if they formed it, how would you guarantee that Russia wouldn't view them the same way they do now?
The GDP of Russia Touchers is probably sufficient to at least be a deterrent. And they wouldn't view them the same way because there isn't the threat of American weapons and support, and again it would behoove both sides to keep them denuclearized so they are enough to deter aggression but not enough to pose an existential threat in the same way that NATO does.
So, you suggest to spend even more of their GDP on weapons. Lowering the quality of life of the citizens. And this means they will also have to leave the EU. As any EU member attacked means EU will come to defend them.
Funny, because it is America that is stopping Russia. Forgot how they are already pestering Sweden?
Uh, yeah. That pretty much sums it up. Countries use their own money for collective defense instead of being puppets for major powers. What a concept.
