That station is basically the size of a house, right? Most of it would burn up on entry (especially with how it's designed), damage would be minimal in range.

You can't burn up something the size of Chicago, encased in a thick cylinder of steel.

Okay, bigger than a house. But most of that is sheer length of the tube, all those panels are toast in entry.
