Keep taking away avenues of peaceful protest, see how well that works out
Oh it will do nothing but cause escalation.
If the government were to end the protest by force, then people will come to the next one carrying their rifles with the intent to use it against the crooked cops if they try that shit again. At that point, any attempt to stop the armed protest will start a civil war.
