But it is. Blackhawk is an English transnational of an actual Injun's name. Their mascot isn't a caricature.
You could argue Redskins is an epithet, but Blackhawk is 100% not.
The Cleveland Indians name is fine, but their mascot is a caricature, albeit a benign one, in the eyes of anyone with an ounce of sanity.
Calling the Blackhawks racist would require as much mental gymnastics as calling the Minnesota Vikings racist (not that anyone gives a shit).
But the Viking is a caricature.
Or, here's another one: Squaw Valley.
So named, because of Squaw Peak. Which was named because the first Anglo settlers (or hell, it may even have been the French) who passed by, only saw Injun women and children, because the men were off doing something else at the time...
So they named it after the Injun word for their women...
And now that is apparently "sexist and racist" (lol, woke erasure, much?), and so the ski resort has already changed its world famous name to fucking "Palisades Tahoe"... Because peak clown world. :-/
