And considering everything else about the game betrays a woke mindset in the team creating it, it stands to reason they themselves do not separate capitalism from corporatism in the first place as most of those are known to do.
But the game absolutely doesn't push the idea that capitalism is bad. So much so that lesser merchants in Stellar bay are depicted as oppressed by the corporations.
Monarch is also a place where you can literally play it anyway you like.
I feel you never actually went beyond Terra-2. And completely misunderstood what Terra-2's story is, as nothing in Edgewater is capitalistic to begin with. It's all company owned and the entire population is just wage slaves who get rationned corporate packages as their only wages. There's no economy at all.

Almost like they were engaging and enjoyable, like much of the game itself. Because in case you missed it I rather liked the game, as I said initially.
