The first time I saw anything like a computer that wasn't an arcade game was about 1978 or 9 when the hospital my mother worked at replaced typewriters with Wang terminals. I remember there being big huge books for what would have amounted to a five or six choice menu system, and a simple word processor (that the dictatypists had to learn to use). It was like fuckin' magic, man.
