Why bother explaining? We already know why.
It's because they want to rub 'muh brown girl power!' in everyone's faces. That's why it's not enough to racebend a character, they have to try and uphold their racebent variant as the best most awesomest version of the character.
They try really really hard for you to like these characters.
And they fail, because they simply do not understand why nerds ever liked this fantasy shit in the first place. In their mind, people like fictional characters for their fictional achievements. They think they just have to show a character defeating the baddies and being the strongest smartest bestest ever and that will make them liked.
They don't understand that a character's interactions with the rest of the cast are more important than any part they play in defeating the big bad.
The cope from some of the fans is beyond pathetic. The show runner is obviously a woke leftist retard who made unnecessary, radical, sweeping changes in service of his gender and racial politics. Yet there are tons of book fans excusing all of his bullshit because "muh adaptations for television" and "let's see where this goes". I shouldn't be surprised by how stupid these people are, but Jesus Christ Almighty...
What else can they say. I assume a lot of them are very entrenched in to the leftist ideology, probably made fun of SW fans getting similar treatment. The sudden realization would break their world view so they are trying to cope.
If the show is canceled and they turn against the fans, again, I expect some fresh new red pills to go around.
"Essentially, we wanted our new females to be somewhat justified in their existence by having them defeat the great enemy and thus making it known they are more powerful than him, and not just Mary Sues with those character's names. Instead of the white male savior, we added a little black girl magic. The people already love them for merely existing, now this gives them up a chance to show up the main character. We feel that, while he was the protagonist, nothing is stronger than a sassy black single woman who don't need no man."
...
"What's that? That is the exact definition of a Mary Sue? Well, that's what you think, but they aren't universally loved. They are also hated by other women who are just jealous of them. They have flaws, they can't do everything perfectly, but that's why people love them all the more. They will also die in season two when they need to save the people again, but, they will come back to life again, too. It's the wheel of black girl magic, after all."
..
"Where are you going? We have a new trailer for a new 2001: A Space Odyssey where the black trans femme AI has to stop white colonizers from reaching Europa and killing the Kangs and taking their technology!"
The real irony is that in any faithful interpretation, he wouldn't have needed to justify their existence. Both characters in the books stand on their own just fine even without elevating them above the male characters. I mean, Egwene is annoying as all hell, but she plays an important role in the story.
Okay showrunner Rare Judkins, but why did you put them both in blackface? I thought they were sorceresses, but even "minstrel show" should have different meaning in a fantasy setting.
You've read all the witcher books?
I found them a bit hard to read myself.
Wheel of time books are good, go for it. Read the first book and see if you like it. Is not at the same level as Malazan Book of the Fallen but definitely worth reading.

Mary Sue fanfic shit.
They try really really hard for you to like these characters. But obviously, most reject it.

The "Big Bad" was really the friends we made along the way.
Is funny to watch them try to explain it.

What boggles my mind is that there are plenty of female characters in power in the books. No need to inject his own garbage

What I’ve been saying

Geez. This guy is clueless. It makes me sad that this show is so popular. If he doesn’t want to adapt the books then he should make his own story.
