Studies have shown that children of color perform better in school when the teacher at the front of the classroom looks like them.
And investigations of the those studies have actually revealed CHEATING/FALSIFYING GRADES is the real fucking reason. Black teachers, especially in under-performing schools, aren't really better with black kids, they're just better at faking it on paper! It's exactly like elitist white snobby professors at universities, they aren't better with their students because they share skin color, they're massive fucking cheats.
I remember reading that black students do better around whites, especially those who are in AP classes. But white students aren’t likely to mock a black student for taking gifted classes. As for teachers I agree. If the student gives little effort and the parents don’t care then it doesn’t matter about the teacher.
In Kindergarten I have definitely seen it shown Black kids do better with White teachers. Also seen the cheating scandals. It's really about the quality of the kids. I'd guess though if you took kids and teachers of each race with the same IQ/behavior you would get better results with someone who looks like you, as humans are designed to be around people who look like them, less stressful. Of course, IQs and behaviours aren't the same in almost all instances, so...
I was thinking back to see what black teachers I had in public schools. I came up with two, one of which was very much the worst teacher I had in all of pre-college education. The other was a football coach teaching a health class. Yeah, I can't see diversity hiring more of those high quality educators in being a good thing.
That would being doing something about the problem and there is no special budget set aside for it because politicians and activists don't actually care and can't embezzle easily from those types of funds.
