It is classic doublethink.

Rod Dreher calls it the Law of Merited Impossibility.

It's impossible, but when it happens, it's deserved.

Sexual deviants would never go into schools to groom little kids into a 41% suicide lifestyle. But as soon as they did, it was a very good thing.
