We aren't any more "Enlightened" today than they were.

In my opinion, I think we are more unenlightened. The vanity and vindictiveness is all time high and are praised as virtue.

I'm not sure if I agree with this any more. At least the leaders in anglosphere all seem to be incompetent, out of their elements worst of all only serving their own interests.
