Make Everything Trump Again
There’s a Pink Floyd song (or two) for pretty much this exact situation…
“Welcome my son, welcome to the machine! What did you dream? It’s alright, we told you what to dream!”
Oh also (the next song on that album), “And did we tell you the name of the game, boy? We call it riding the gravy traaaaiiiinnnn…”
Rebranding is always a dangerous gambit. The opportunity is ripe to crush Zuckerbot by strangling the Metaverse in the cradle with memes.
This is like something out of a Postal game.
Literal scenes like this in Cyberpunk 2077. Homeless peeps in tent cities using their VR. (Braindances)
Leftists probably think that's cool and something to look forward to.
Tons and tons absolutely clamoring for VR/AR/Ready Player One type nonsense.
I can let it slide if it's some kid not even out of highschool yet but it's really telling if an adult's all for it. The idea of "living" completely plugged into a fake reality is horrifying to me on multiple levels: societal, personal, political, relational.
I wouldn't mind a VR world when I get older and am less mobile but those days are still a long way off.
The problem is so many of these faggots don't want to face the harsh reality of the real world. They're the same ones clamoring for the internet to be censored because someone called them a niggerfaggot during a gaming session.
It's like an offshoot of the new COVID "I love working from home, I'm never commuting/going back to the office again" crowd.
Bitch, if your entire job can be done over Zoom without pants on, it's not a real fucking job.
stop trying to make meta happen
Is this a Mean Girlls reference, lol.
Literally Snowcrash, where the real-world is so shitty (IIRC the main character lives in a storage unit) that everyone spends all their time in the Metaverse (book calls it that too).
Ready Player One has the same basic scenario.
Guy starts out living between his Aunt's double wide mobile home and a cargo van that has had all the seats removed. He uses his head set & gloves to connect to the Oasis while in the Cargo van because he's safe while in there because the doors lock so one can assault or rob him.
Lotta dystopian works of fiction that we're just obliviously marching towards without a care in the world...
I think the bigger problems aren't that no one cares. The masses don't know like in Brave New World and the rest of us are either pushing for the coming crash or getting our smaller group/family unit ready to deal with it. Because we're tired of the masses who choose to remain placated.
Stonetoss predicted this lol
Multiple writers have. The Matrix is just an extreme form of it.
You own nothing, and you'll be happy.
Woah wait is the headset actually there? I can't tell if it was shopped in or not
Yeah it does look like the image was photoshopped. They removed the huge mural of George Floyd:

Life imitates art
Ready Player...Three?
