That was my point, it did not start woke. I really liked it in the beginning, it had really cool characters and the gameplay was new. Then they turned Soldier gay and the entire thing about Tracers butt, after that I simply did not care anymore. I understand they went heavy in to diversity and feminism.

Not at launch. They started bowing to sjw stuff right before the launch though with sarkesian complaint of not a diverse selection of female body types compared to the men. But that’s not that big of a deal because there were still atteactive characters. Then the concern trolling over a tracer pose. The gay stuff didn’t happen until a bit later
Yeah Overwatch came out in 2016 and was in development for a while, at least 2013. It was on the cusp of developers still trying to cater to "gamers" and just going for diversity.
You could say that they were already pushing for diversity in some ways, but no more than Street Fighter was decades earlier. It wasn't until they started getting "feedback" in terms of progressive leftists on twitter that they started doing thing like making characters gay.
