Nostalgia cuck is nostalgic: I remember back when people were complaining that Pride was becoming commercialized. The first corporations to set up booths were the banks and beer types, the same ones who exploited the community and were the first to dump us when it was convenient outside of pride. It made us look bad to welcome them, but the more aggressive members wanted corporate sponsorship, they said it made us more mainstream and meant more acceptance. This was such a problem that it nearly destroyed GLAAD and the Human Rights Campaign, the champagne socialists groups of the gay democrats when it was discovered the members of their boards were corporate whores by gay media. The community had already known this as they were the biggest "We need corporate acceptance" cunts. When this stopped being a problem six months later, I started to phase myself completely out of the community. A good thing too, because when most people were defending Parker Malloy for being a bigot, I was already out the door.
The thing is, it was never NOT going to be commercialized. That was always the intent.
They needed an easy-in to mainstream acceptance. How do you achieve that? Commercial consumerism.
The majority of the general public has always been against the spread of the Rainbow Reich nonsense, which is why every time it was put to vote it was always a universal "nay" for gay marriage. That's why they ended up bypassing the legislature and going straight to the courts. The media called it a giant victory for "acceptance", when in reality it was just another step towards tyranny. The people didn't accept it, they were literally forced to tolerate it.
It was all part of Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen's plan from the start. They literally discussed the long term outcomes back in the 1980s.
