I don’t think he would’ve been harmed. Sexual dimorphism. I was a thirteen year old boy once and if anything banging Asa Akira would’ve given me a wellspring of confidence that would last the rest of my life. I’d be strutting through the halls of my junior high. Reverse the genders and yeah, it’s gonna be predatory, but I really can’t see how any female could’ve “taken advantage” of me when I was thirteen. Like how would I have been harmed exactly? I was so damn horny back then I would’ve banged Hilary Clinton.
That's just you romanticizing it in retrospect.
You can't say what it would or wouldn't have done, because it didn't happen.
Your entire belief is literally one built on a stereotype that's been promoted through society. It's also not exclusively about you — a shocking concept to many — it's about stopping predatory behavior of an adult who should know better as well.
Can you say you would feel the same if you had gotten a girl pregnant at 13, she had decided to keep the baby, and forced you and your family into financial debt for the next 18 years, taking away your youth and life or going to jail if you missed payments? Think you'd still be strutting around?
Because that's happened.
In that scenario, the negative consequences come entirely from the pregnancy and the financial problems that stems from it. In the scenario I was describing where Asa Akira fucked me and didn’t get pregnant when I was thirteen, it wouldn’t negatively affect me and in fact would’ve been one of my most treasured memories. I’m sorry, I just cannot imagine how I would be adversely affected by that, psychologically or otherwise. In fact, it would’ve boosted my confidence hugely. Men just aren’t the same as women. However I think females ARE incredibly negatively affected by early promiscuity/statutory rape, it destroys their ability to pair-bond among other things. Basically, a grown man having sex with a young girl is rape. The other way around? No. Young men are fundamentally unaffected by sleeping with older women. I banged a chick in her 30s when I was 16, absolutely no regrets whatsoever.
Male victims will experience the same feelings of guilt, shame, low self-esteem, anger and other more serious psychological disorders that their female counterparts do. This has been made pretty clear through psychological observation and literature. They will have the same problems with being able to trust, set boundaries with others in the future and the ability to participate in adult relationships in the future.
Again, you're looking back at it as an adult and making a judgment based on who you are now. Chances are you would be affected, whether you believe so or not. Presenting anecdotal personal experiences as representative of everyone doesn't change that we've seen such things have a real impact on young dudes.
I can't help but feel like a lot of your viewpoint is based solely off of stereotypes.
You also seem stuck on the idea of Asa Akira and yourself. Cool, you have a crush on her, I get it. That doesn't mean that ever single case that happens is with some pornhub model chick. We're also not talking about you exclusively. Most women who assault younger boys are likely not as attractive. But because the behavior is normalized, they all feel comfortable with acting on such predatory behavior.
Furthermore, as much as you want to remove those "negative consequences" to make your point, you're simply not able to. They're intrinsically entwined and one cannot happen without the other — much like how even adults are affected by STD's, pregnancy, financial burdens, commitment issues, etc.
We'll have to agree to disagree.
I remember knowing some girls who were the exact same way, frankly. One family of three sisters all had at least one kid by age 15, and they were all damn proud of it, too. There's more, but you do not want to know. Early 80s. And those were just the most extreme ones. Yeah, the horny teen movies of the late 70s and 80s exist for a reason.
The problem is the misuse of the word "child" to include the pubescent, because people confuse biology with legal stuff. And there seems to be great reluctance to teach simple self-control, it's like balance between "anything goes" and "abstinence" is an alien thought to most humans. That being said, my own sex ed experience was this: it was grade 8, co-ed, and purely matter-of-factual, and focused a lot on syphilis (AIDS wasn't a thing quite yet.)
Nah, there's plenty of teen sluts who want their teacher to bend them over the desk. That doesn't mean we let them do it.
And I've known plenty of thirteen year old boys that have no interest in sex and still think girls have cooties. Call them slow developers or whatever.
If you're only basing the law on the kid's mental state, I guess there can be mitigating circumstances, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Otherwise you have judges using their own subjective experience (like you) and the opinion of a child whose feelings may very well change when they get older.
Thirteen year olds also want to drive Lamborghinis despite not being mature enough to handle that kind of power.
Young teens being exposed to porn does massive damage to the psyche that is truly hard to appreciate in the current era where literally everyone with a communications device can see hardcore group sex in seconds.
