I'm referring to a specific instance where a tank crew scuttled their M1 when a tread got blown off. They can do that in an active combat zone but they can't even put sawdust in the engines and blow them up before leaving?

Looks like an M2 with the barrel removed - they're designed to be swapped easily to deal with overheating.
