Frankly I think the judge just felt sorry for him, he was representing himself and had zero idea of how to navigate the legal waters.
His court date was July 16, 2021, over 2 weeks after we re-opened.
There is no indication that Mr. King’s case is connected to the relaxing of Covid restrictions in Alberta which fully opened on July 1, 2021. The government of Alberta states they have opened the province due to achieving the government’s stated goal of 70% of Albertans receiving their first vaccine.
The goals were released late May, almost 2 months before his court date.
He is most definitelly an idiot. The first thing he did at the trial is try to pull some sovereign citizen bullshit that the judge wanted no part of. From the trial transcritp:
