The study you're referring to about the supposed "gay genes" they found in adults is based on epicgenetics, or gene expression occurring from chronic behavior. Majority of the gays were heavy substance users, and much like porn or fighting or anything that alters phenotypes through repetition, addiction, or habit-forming routines, there are alterations in gene expression from homosexuals.
Liken it to the way a heroin addict's neurophysiology changes after becoming addicted. Common sense tells us there is no heroin gene people are born with, but rather gene expression changes after the habit-forming addiction becomes part of their behavior. It's the exact same way with homosexuality, or porn addiction, which also changes the brain's chemistry.
There also seems to be a correlation between boys being abused by men that leads to boys being gay or bisexual.
Molestation and abuse in young boys completely disrupts their sexual orientation, or rather disorients them. It's another added reason why they become such heavy substance abusers.
There never was and never will be any innate genes related to homosexuality, since it's entirely behavioral.
I made a lengthy post explaining why. EDIT: here's the link: https://kotakuinaction2.win/p/12ih0L7Pvj/x/c/4J9MIRY3usP?d=50

Not just a correlation, a fundamental foundation of causation: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11501300/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9127231/

Ahaha... yes, exactly.
