(Context - him shitting on rufo and desantis and people like them who think they can make ideological change in the courts/through laws.)
In order to match the power the left has in our society the right would have to do something like the following:
Imagine there were judicial tribunals created for the abolition of critical race theory. filled with ex-patriot prayer members, white activists, etc. Of course now 'reformed' (they went back to law school after all). People who were 10-20 years ago were once alt-righters would be fining and even jailing their ideological opponents in banana courts.
Think about how absurd that sounds. Then recognize this is what exists today in the west, except from the opposite side. This is the way our current judiciary works. This is human rights tribunals. Ex-left wing terrorists are judges and advisors to deep power. The patent absurdity of the opposite happening demonstrates just how far the right is from any sort of power in the west.
This is what happened today in my country. We are changing our constitution due to horrible riots that happened around 2 years ago now, right before covid. And long story short, the committee in charge of the whole thing is headed by a literal communist indian (native from the country) who hasn't lived in the country in all her live (she lived in France, Canada an other places for most of her 60+ years of live) who can barely speak Spanish and gave her acceptance speech in "Mapudungun" (native language) who less than 5% of the population speaks (since most of her people don't speak it either), oh she also come dressed in full indian regalia (for extra victim points). It was a shit show, and my country will become the next Venezuela.
The country is Chile btw.
The event had everything, including a riot that delayed things by hours. Everyone (including the very few right wing involved in this) spoke in neutral language, or naming things in male and female connotation CONSTANTLY. Embarrassing doesn't even begin to cover it.
You guys need to stop your country from turning into this. Don't compromise.

Later in the podcast, Moldbug points out the way activism on the right works is that on occasion they ask the left to stop fucking them in the ass so hard. Total submission, and the 'pushback' is just to ask for the dominators to be a bit more gentle about it.
The Rufo style pushback against CRT is a perfect example. It is not an active push to teach a certain curriculum, and to ostracize and remove those currently teaching CRT. It is a pathetic attempt to use 'law' to solve a problem which is not solvable by law. Even if any such law were enforced, it would be easily worked around, and you'd still have the fundamental problem that the people teaching your children still believe CRT.

I dunno; when Trump issued that EO the left was legit freaking out about it. You're right that they route around it after a time, but the iterative process goes both ways.
How does the right get from now to "right wing judicial tribunals"? We don't just wake up one day and have them. You would have to have policies banning it and some reason to set up those tribunals. One possible reason would be the left keeps trying to circumvent the rules, so you have tribunals to rule on what is or is not "CRT". Then you stack the tribunals with /ourguys/, then they just know that all left-wing thought is "CRT" and therefore banned.
This is one criticism I have of Moldbug: he's good at describing where we are and where we need to be, but his descriptions of the intermediate state leave something to be desired.
I said yesterday on Gab, after the National Education Alliance posted a plan to teach CRT in every school across the country, that the only way to keep CRT out of public schools is to get CRT believing teachers out of schools. No one anywhere is suggesting anything even close to that.
So, that leaves getting your kids away from those teachers, which means pulling your kids out of public schools.
I am seeing no discussion anywhere that talks about this.
So the right is going to lose, again, and in 15 years there will be no right, because their children will all be brainwashed woke.
The woke don't increase their numbers by convincing people with reason and argument, they do it by getting their hooks into the kids in public schools, which the right has been dutifully sending their kids to for 70 freaking years.
I definitely agree with getting kids out of public schools and in general trying to minimize your dependence on Woke institutions.
That said, I think people tend to not seriously discuss them because our entire society is oriented towards parents putting their kids in the free daycare known as the "public school system", and structuring your family to avoid that requires pretty significant lifestyle changes. Frankly, most people including most "conservatives" aren't willing to undergo those lifestyle changes.
A society were most families don't depend on public schools without that being a burden is a pretty big commitment to change society. So your options are "change society" or "change the schools". Given those options it's understandable that most people would choose the latter. We are on the fringes of the fringe.
I don't think "change the schools" will work either, but given that no one seems to have a detailed map of how to get from "today" to "right wing judicial tribunals banning CRT" it's hard for me to say that's not a necessary step towards them.
you still don't get it. the left goes into hysterics over any kind of pushback, regardless of how mild or how damaging it is to them. any pushback at all, and you're getting a full serving of propaganda by the media machine. that's the implied threat that makes establishment conservatives cower in fear.
and even if you do proceed with implementing said pushback, they'll nullify it (because the entire system is already compromised and stacked with True Believers). as the worthless legislation becomes a toothless farce, they'll continue going into hysterics about how this is the end of Democracy, until the whole ordeal is mostly forgotten thanks to their 24/7 news cycle.
years later, they'll massively exaggerate that pushback attempt in their narrative of history that they teach in schools, as if to say: see? this leader was an unhinged right-wing ideologue! and on and on it goes.
This argument can be used to justify not ever implementing any sort of pushback ever. Going back to Moldbug's original example end-state: how do you ever get your "right wing judicial tribunals" without running afoul of the media machine that will oppose any attempt to create them? Or without the Feds nullifying them? Even a Caesar figure would be attacked, and even if he had his own media and legal apparatus supporting him it would necessarily be smaller as an outsider elite.
At some point the right needs to start testing the waters locally: find out how much of the institutional support it thinks it has it actually has, how much support it takes to make small inroads and hold ground, how much will there is at the Federal level to enforce the law if a state or county goes rogue.
These are all important things to know if your destination is "right wing judicial tribunals to enforce a ban on CRT"
I do think local resistance may be effective. Parents dominating school board meetings and uniting to either kick out the woke teachers or homeschool en masse? Can't hurt. Though the cathedral might destroy them (if this starts to happen, expect a massive push to call homeschooling a cult and devalue those who were homeschooled).
As to your second point, Charles Murray has a book called 'By The People' where he argues that, because of the corruption of the courts and the massive expansion of federal govt power, only hope for any sort of non-woke values in the west is through local civil disobedience (like what the left already does through sanctuary cities).
The utilization of federalism is an interesting idea. I do think if 10% of the U.S. population is willing to get up and move to a state with the express purpose of ignoring the federal government, that would be interesting.

The government was canceling training sessions and the industry was worried it was going to cease to exist. They weren't outright ignoring the EO the way they ignored Trump trying to pull troops out of Afghanistan and Syria. That tells me it had some teeth, at least temporarily.

Just noticed this post on my index. I don't post in this community much but this topic was interesting. I quite like the analogy.
I read some comments on here discussing the conservatives unwilling to look at things from a lens of power and seize that power to fix things. I was reminded of some words by Ted Kaczynski.

While many people are stuck here and most anywhere at looking at things from a left or right dynamic, the reality is that there's really a Status Quo system through which most people whether left or right are trying to navigate. The reason the right seems to lack any power is because what is going on in western civilization is benefiting the system for the most part, whether you're right or left. The only people dissatisfied are those people with niche issues within the system. Your community tending to have one specific to gamer gate which can diverge into censorship and issues of freedom from government. TDW might have issues with trans and CRT. ConsumeProduct might have issues with porn, whores and moral degeneracy based on a Christianity lens. Etc....
But overall most people are still fine with "the system". For the right to wield the kind of power you suggest, the system wouldn't benefit so the right will never wield this sort of power. You need to change the system for the right to ever wield power in the manner many of your want.
The issue is something Carroll Quigley (a very intelligent historian) described in his book Tragedy and Hope. 19th century values of individualism and liberalism were trumped in the 20th century because of WWII and the Great Depression. The system realized it would enhance their wealth and power more by censoring men, reducing liberty and creating a welfare state along with State capitalism. You'll never go back to the liberty of the 1800s while the system still exists because it is not in the systems benefit. No matter how much you try to convince people, we have seen the impacts. Those in control of the system benefit more with less freedom not more.
What's the difference between the early years of the USA and now? Specialist armies. Analyzing history you'll see that man only ever truly had much freedom when peasant armies were able to equip themselves similar to government armies. As it stands right now, military equipment is too complex and expensive for average people to use. This leads to societies that are less free because a government can now more easily force submission and obedience on citizens. Further, the modern era adds a twist because now the mechanism of control isn't just through armies but also information. By the combination of a subjugated population through superior military means and information dominance, countries can now control people cross continental or Global, which is what we're seeing in the modern era.
Anyway, I don't think you're ever going to regain control in this lifetime. If you truly want to gain control, as crazy as this sounds, you basically need to find a way to develop a nuclear bomb so easily made, every person on earth could make one. That would disrupt the system. Short of that, I'm not too sure what will disrupt the system.
There's the "rods from god" or a "colony drop."
You can also create space stations and free yourself from land constraints if there's civilian spaceflight.
Don't just buy guns, establish your own backyard space program.
Moldbug is a turd. The left had power because they're master manipulators, but lies and manipulations only work when people believe them. The mask is slipping, more and more people are seeing whats happening and getting redpilled. The left hid in the shadows waiting for decades waiting for their chance, and now they think its time.
