I got it from Bing, I have no idea where they get theirs from.

I remain astonished that people take in any way seriously something that was put in front of them because Some MegaCorp did it.

But seriously, how can you define a word, while using the word? That doesn't help anything.

It's the only way they know how to. There is no intent to define anything.

But you can look up the verb if they use one.

Well, it's just what comes up on the page. It's not that they take it seriously because Microsoft put it there, it's that it's the first result and it's convenient.

In effect though, they do take it seriously because Microsoft put it there. That may not be their stated reason, but it's what they do in practice.
