So we critic China but Canada doing the same is fine? How do leftists in Canada rationalize it?
there is no rationality in Canada.
(i have the misfortune of living here)
The average Canadian lives on the dichotomy that USA=bad, and so as long as Canada does the opposite, not matter it does, Canada= good.
Canada can literally trample on all rights, even ones enshrined in the charter (our version of the constitution and its amendments) and the average Canadian will still smugly say that its the right thing to do.
i wish fire and brimstone on this arrogant useless population
All of those natural resources and they choose to be jealous.
Imagine being that complacent.
couldn't you just vaccinate them and not destroy the rest of the country?
Lot of Canadians hate this, just like a lot of Chinese hate their media censorship. Leftists rationalize it the same way they always do, for the good and empowerment of their cause. Lot of the companies that will be involved are American too...
Canadians are seemingly nice on the surface, but spiteful passive-aggressive bastards on the inside. Try questioning any of the sacred cows and you'll quickly see them turn. Socialism is more deeply ingrained, and with it, a general belief that more government, especially left government is better. They are very brainwashed, and the media being paid of hasn't helped.
Trudeau talked about his "admiration for China's basic dictatorship" in 2015. This had no media traction until the founder of Rebel News (then working at Sun) brought it up. All other mainstream media downplayed it, said it was nothing, and it was stretching to even bring it up. Trudeau repeated similar words in 2020. Trudeau and many of the left (especially in the government and media) have no issue with China's dictatorship. They'll raise issues with the Uighurs, but they fundamentally agree with authoritarianism as long as it's on their side.
When it comes to voting for another party, the Conservatives are the only party that didn't vote for this. The general opinion is that the conservatives never change and they're going to things like ban abortion, and bring in many other 'evil' social conservative laws. They haven't done this when in they were in power in the past, but they're definitely going to this time. I don't think Canada even has any abortion laws, and the current conservative party is lockstep with the Liberals in almost all policies and voting.
There's the PPC, which is a tiny party, but the leader's "far right" and is evil for going to an event and speaking outside, while protests with many more people and much closer contact for causes they like occurring at the same time are great.
^ I think Americans and the world need to get this through their heads. Canadians have the appearance of being nice and play it up. But maaaan do most of them love Liberalism, and especially when it comes to America, have this superiority complex and will talk down to their lessers if they dare point out their beloved socialized healthcare and diversity are not actually so great.
They won't even allow a debate of allowing for optional private healthcare. Even if there would be no different in public funding, it is better everyone get worse care, than everyone getting better care if it means some may be able to pay to get better care than others. Just ignore the death panels, and the reduction of available health services & procedures because there's no money left to pay for them. Also ignore politicians and sports stars get preferential access under the current system, while people who will die before they're treated often have no choice but to get private treatment in the states.
I used to know a Canadian girl, she was totally into voluntary human extinction, mad as a box of frogs she was.
They're leftists. They excel at ignoring reality
Canada is a Chinese military outpost at this point, so picking a fight with them might start the hot war with China.
