Because of Ru Paul's Drag Race drag is extremely popular right now with lefty normies. Part of it is just using anything to push an agenda but it also feels like an intentional wedge issue between left and right normies because on one hand drag used to be mostly harmless fun that only took place in clubs where only adults could be and now it's being pushed on Nickelodeon, so lefty grill dad is defending the former while righty grill dad is attacking the latter.
