You really don't want to fall into the hands of these imbeciles. Some of these 'doctors' actually admit to asking patients for pronouns. Imagine being helpless and at the mercy of a disgusting creep like that.
They ask pronouns because HR demands it of them. Last few exams and visits were like this. When asked point blank I straight up told them that I did not care, and I don't think the person attending to me did either.
Primary care in the US has been co-opted by corporations and interest groups inserting themselves between you and your doctor without much benefit for either of you. A lot of it is less about wokeness, and more about billing.
No matter the actual purpose of your visit, corporations and governments have shoehorned themselves into the exam room by forcing the doctor to go over checklists like promoting weight loss or screening for guns in the home or intimate partner violence.
The doctor has to jump through a lot of these hoops to try to get paid a few more crumbs by insurers or in some cases they get docked pay for not screening for the cause celebre du jour.
