The Rules of Engagement for sexual interactions have effectively been eliminated, so there are no longer clearly defined boundaries that if you stay within people feel respected and not used and abused.

As a result people are just "winging it" in a situation where no one's thinking rationally, and every situation has to be judged on a case-by-case basis using an ad hoc ruleset that no one agrees on and that is almost entirely based on a person's emotional state at the time.
