Understand that the mainstream media has never been weaker in America than it is now
They literally control all discourse everywhere and are imprisoning people for telling the truth. You are clinically insane.
The fact remains that the other half of America completely distrusts the media.
And yet continues to consume everything they produce and behave exactly how they are told thereby.
Fact remains that there has never been an authoritarian hellscape that was entirely permanent.
There has never been full spectrum information control before now, either.
A guaranteed glimmer of hope is that the left always purity spirals. There will come a day when the corporatists and the woke progressives have to break their flimsy alliance and they will be forced to fight each other.
Any evidence of that?
Only hope is for people to build parallel institutions
No one, and I mean no one, knows what the future holds.
It looks grim, sure, but:
Self-defeat and attributing your enemy an omniscience they don't possess only makes their efforts at subjugation all the easier.
Constantly being fed negative info -- and seeking it -- is itself a type of propaganda that leads back to point 1: self-defeat and projection of insurmountable power on your opponents.
There are gradually-expanding pockets of resistance springing up, at least here in the States. And as for the whole "Uh, they won't let you build parallel institutions, uh." crap? Nature abhors a vacuum, and parallel institutions are and will continue to spring up because there is a demand, and a necessity, for them -- alt/new tech is proof positive of that.
It wasn't meant to be instruction! More like, "now one would glowpost" in response to 'the establishment won't let you build parallel institutions, now what?' I'll phrase it better in future.
