Years ago, I remember going to my doctor, telling her that I had issues with sleep. Over several sessions she kept trying to convince me to go to a psychiatrist. I refused. Years later I got to see my medical records and it had a note from her saying how she suggested therapy but "I was furious and refused to listen".
