Overall, China sees America as a weak, fading power with overpriced large toys that are perfect targets for China's new generation of missile tech (that the Americans have no counter for).
It's more that China is planning on what we may call asymmetric warfare. American toys are very high-tech and expensive, and they are impressive, but if you can take it down with lower-tech and cheaper weapons, you are getting far more value for your renminbi.
It's unfortunate that most of this could have been avoided if Trump won a second term, but as we have all found out.
