Even Zuck himself doesn't use Messenger.

They also take their children to private schools that don't use computers/tablets and teach a classical curriculum.
What they want you to do, they don't do themselves. Because the slaves and serfs don't receive the same sort of education as the aristocrats.
Messenger is Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp?
I'm sure he also doesn't upload his nude photos to Facebook either, for uh... "prevention" of revenge porn.
Either one, he uses Signal instead.
"Instead" seems like a hasty conclusion. He probably uses both.
I think most people use a combination of a few. You'll never be able to convince everyone to use your "preferred" one.
I just told my mother about that idea. Her face was absolutely priceless.
Especially funny knowing Facebook just got hacked. I sure want my noods, paired with my actual identity to be free for hackers and anyone they share with.
Then again, not sure it would be worse than the actual people working for Facebook having them....
Please. The only nudes he could ever make are diagrams of his chassis.
It’s a psyop to make you think Signal is secure.
Security exists on a spectrum and Signal is somewhere in the middle. You do register with a phone number, so other Signal members with your phone number will become aware that you use the service. I find that problematic but they're working to divorce Signal from phone numbers altogether. It's taking a long time though.
Your messages are end-to-end encrypted. They're open source and their systems are audited by privacy organizations. If you're really worried about it get the APK directly from the source, compile it yourself, and install, vs getting it from the Play Store.
Meta data is exposed. Snowden always said it's the metadata that really counts. But I'm not exactly texting with domestic terrorists, I'm just texting stupid 4chan memes to my drunk friends that will get automatically deleted within 24 hours, stuff I don't want to see surface during a job interview someday.
It has its flaws, but there isn't really a perfect platform. Anything has to be better than SMS, which is staggeringly unsecure.
If you don’t hold the encryption keys, it is not secure.
Show us the code you think is doing what you are accusing - you can't because it doesn't exist and, more likely, you don't have the technical expertise. Because if you did you'd know YOU do hold the keys with signal.
Slow down there, partner. I only said if you don’t hold they keys you can’t guarantee security. I don’t use signal. If I need to send something securely, I hand deliver it.
Except if you bothered to look at signal's open code you would know that it is built explicitly giving you the keys.
Why would I bother looking at it? It’s insecure by its nature. You have to give your phone number. People can see your phone number. Your metadata is exposed. I share all of my secret data at the secret meetings. Why are you so bent on me putting my data onto the internet?
"It’s insecure by its nature."
You made the claim that you don't control the keys. Now you're trying to defend your incorrect claim by raising other issues.
Who, interested in comm platforms doesn't have an account on all of them.
