I think it's very good that they warn about it. Honestly, given the fact that this was set up by a bunch of amateurs (so I assume) with good intentions, you cannot count too much on the security.
It is certainly possible that the databases will at some point be compromised. Be mindful of that and don't be communicating anything private.
If there is, the moderators will not be aware of it, since they are not administrators of the site. That is somewhat unfortunate, because I'm sure the security of Win will be leaky as hell, and I would like to be a in a position to improve it.
Reminds me of the rogue moderator at TD.win . But the only thing he could do is take over the domain name (since he has no access to the inside), and forcing TD to use a new domain (Patriots.win).

I'd be willing to bet that
a) Your mail probably could be read on their servers if they were served with a warrant
b) They know that such records will be targeted by attackers.
