They can't directly tackle the car jacking explosion (up by 2000% in some cities) without addressing the demographics of the car jackers. And because you're no longer allowed to publicly notice such things, I guess it's time to shift blame to a classic target: gaming.
My own hometown is suffering a massive car jacking epidemic as well as an explosion in overall violent crime. The vast majority of the attacks are being committed by young black men touring nicer areas for targets. Our media, police, and politicians are so completely pozzed that they've literally done nothing to counteract any of this. They aren't allowed to name the problem, so there cannot be any solutions.
Edit to add:
If they were to actually study the data with an open mind, they would quickly discover that certain demographics play plenty of GTA and do not resort to mass car jackings.
This is actually one of the more terrifyingly convincing arguments for segregation: if I can't have a "steak" because "babies" can't chew it, then I'm suddenly rather motivated to live separately from "babies".
I implore leftists not to take us down this road.
This is dumb as hell. The last GTA game is nearly a decade old at this point. Is the game was going to cause a crime spree, surely it would have happened around the time it was released.
Welcome back to the late '90s, I guess.
Wheel keeps on turning
Hahahahaha! Oh, you're serious? Let me laugh harder!
This is what happens when you defund police. Chicago (where the article mentions the carjackings are occuring) also had an over 50%+ increase in shootings, and murders. Compared to 2019, 2020 had 1,121 extra shootings, 1,435 extra shooting victims, and 274 extra murdered.
Chicago isn't the only place that also noticed a significant increase in violent crime as a result of defunding. DA's releasing people immediately likely also didn't help.

Of course, their excuse was 'confusion' or 'misinterpretation' of the original proposal.
Nah, prostitute politicians won't ban a moneymaking industry. They're just demanding some game lobby money.
