Fair enough, but we also don't hear about the imperial Japanese doing experimental surgery on live, unanesthetized Okinawans either.

Imperial Japan was fucking monstrous. There are good reasons that their neighbors kind of hate them. And I say that as someone who's a big fan of contemporary Japan.
