The myth of the Japanese as uniquely plagued by low fertility ( floating around ~ 1.4 in the recent years ) is really weird.
White peoples have lower fertility ( typically 1.2, but some have close to 2 ), and so do the Taiwanese, South Koreans ( ~1, so each generation is now only half the size of the current fertile one ), etc.
It's more of a bludgeon used by globalists irritated by Japan's resistance to mass migration than such a massive crisis for them.
Same for Japanese suicide rates : Similar to suicide rates of White peoples, but uniquely singled-out as if it was such a uniquely Japanese problem.
