The idea that mother's have some special love for their children has done more damage to our society than half the issues people talk about, change my mind.
No reason to change it. My parents adopted kids from a neglectful/abusive household. Even though the mother was obviously unfit to keep them, the courts were still slanted in her favor, and she fought tooth and nail to keep her "property" dragging my folks through years of court battles.
Of course, once she finally lost, she dropped off the face of the earth, and would have nothing more to do with her kids. It's almost like she didn't care about them as people or something.
I think it’s true for the most part, or it should be, but the women who don’t feel it are some of the most twisted, broken and reprehensible creatures on the planet. And they are celebrated by our society, which does it’s best to make more of them.
The MSM is partially responsible for the lack of empathy.
Go to an Amish commune, be respectful, observe them. They have empathy. They care for each-other. Is it because they're religious? No. Lots of people show up to church twice a week and don't give a shit. Is it because they work hard? CEOs usually pull 14-16 hour days 7 days a week, but are disproportionately psychopaths.
It is because they aren't inundated with media. There was a mass shooting in my town a year ago. 1 dead, a half-dozen injured. Shooter dead too. So, no chance of it happening again, they dead. Guess what gets wall-to-wall coverage for WEEKS? Two less population in the city! Live! In! Fear! They didn't even usually distinguish that one was the murderer and therefore basically a life write-off, just "two dead in mass shooting". Everyone and anyone could be a shooter! At the same time, during those weeks, two people jumped off a bridge onto a highway. The only reason I know is I walk across that bridge and saw a small but tasteful flower arrangement and note each time. Media doesn't care about depressed or those in need of help. There's no profit for them in turning off your TV and instead going outside and socializing, making friends, building community bonds. The less bonds you have, the more you're glued to your TV, the more money they earn.
They WANT you to be afraid, to fear everyone else. And when you fear someone, you don't extend your empathy to them nearly as easily.
I didn't even see that line. Female judges are literally hellspawn. At least admit that she lost the plot and killed him, if you can't admit she's a murderer.
Sometimes I wonder how prevalent autism and/or down syndrome is going to become in the future. Society tries to pretend these children with severe autism or down syndrome are a blessing, yet how many of these cases do we see where parents kill their special needs children? We parade around these children, even selecting a down syndrome child as a winner of the gerber baby contest, yet observers don't understand the burden of raising a special needs child who will never be able to become independent, who will always have to be cared for by their parents until their parents die.
Most of those who say that it is a blessing to have a down syndrome child, do they really mean it, or are they just saying that because it makes them look virtuous? Will the child really have a good life, or will they be neglected by their parents who deep down have a resentment towards their special needs child who is incapable of functioning on their own?
This is not a justification of this mother, not at all. She should serve jail time for this, she suffocated her son to death and that is abhorrent. I'm just saying how many people are like this woman, who lack the patience to care for this special needs child? Probably a good amount of the people who have special needs children. Is our society so fragile that without the government providing daycare, these parents will go insane?

This reminds me of the Sophie situation from a few months back that TUG and Rekieta covered and eventually garnered enough outrage to save the kid.

Well, I had a loving mother, so I can't really agree with you here.
Assuming that they love their children by default is not such a great idea though.
No worries guys, it was just another Covid death.

Loving mother's don't stuff sponges down their kids throats to kill them

You know what would save a few lives? Rewriting divorce law, but you'll never see anyone suggest that.

Most people I know with downs live fulfilling if somewhat truncated lives, whether these are the norm or outliers I don't know
