Fasting is great for many reasons outside of just weight loss. I've been doing it for the last two years, tried 3 days fasts, 5 day fasts, (mostly just stick to 2 day fasts) and even dry fasts. On day 2 of a dry fast you will literally lose a pound of fat every couple of hours. But it's also great for healing. I look 10-15 years younger and after losing around 140 pounds, fasting has helped get rid of loose skin. It takes time though, don't think you can fast once or twice and you'll sort yourself out. I've been at it for two years and although the results have been fantastic, I probably have another two years to go, but I'll probably at this point do it for life.
Also if you need to accelerate healing, fasting is my usual goto.
First day you can do whatever you like, but the second and third day I wouldn't recommend pushing yourself too hard. Usually I align them so I do most of the "though" fasting during the weekend when I'm free to do as I like.
Besides small fruit, I usually fast during work days. Improves concentration a lot, and while it does help dieting by limiting calories during the single meal after, it's a side bonus rather than the goal.
I’m probably not doing fasting “properly,” but I generally either keep it to two meals a day or just a meal in the afternoon. I’m not into the idea of the “Keto diet” or any of the other diets that tend to have cultish tendencies, but I have been trying an organic, “European” diet where I avoid foods that contain chemicals and ingredients banned in Europe.
i've been doing intermittent fasting for a couple years now and it's so easy.
i'm at the lowest weight i've had since childhood and all i do is not eat after 8 pm until noon the next day.
