I've only read Overlord, but I don't think any other medium could do justice to that story telling and world building. The author is legitimately talented unlike most LN writers, with only some clumsiness towards the main character's trope. I suggest reading it instead at all costs if possible.

The first season is pretty good as an adaption, but yeah the Light Novel obviously gives better detail to everything.
