Granted, one of them is a REMF whose deployments have included Alaska and Tokyo, so he doesn't have much on the line. The people looking forward to Biden sending them back to the sandbox may feel differently.
I would argue pissing off the Grunts is a bigger deal than pissing off the REMF and POG's though. Not much you can do when the guys who actually pull the trigger decide to tell you "Eat shit and die." What, are they going to give some 2-Star a rifle and say "Welp, its your job now."?
I'm sure having a military angry at you is in no way going to backfire.
They pissed off the Military. They pissed off the police. They pissed off half or more of the population.
