It also includes TOR browser replacement which I wouldnt trust even to post kitten images.

But as far I understand this - and maybe pocketnet - is closest we have to mainstreaming this kind of tech.

These projects don't need massive budgets and used to not have them. And they were better off not having them.

Linux was a stronger project when it was a bunch of anonymous guys who wanted a decent OS to run on whatever spare hardware they had lying around and not Intel wanting free labor for an OS to run on their latest processors.

I don't trust a billionaire -- any billionaire -- to have the same interests and motivations as a bunch of anonymous shitposters.

We desperately need a Cloudflare alternative and payment processing. That type of infrastructure takes money.
