Total reversal from the 80s and 90s, the ones who feared fundamentalists getting ahold of their borrowing history, now want everyone else's borrowing history.
How can American Library Association fire anyone? I admit not knowing how libraries work, I assume that they are private or school related and the owner can chose to be part of the association?
Does the Association actually runs the libraries?
I wanted to make sure he was not just kicked out of the association rather then fired.
No, the ALA runs jack shit. But librarians are about 85-90 percent rabid leftists. Big Momma ALA says jump, they'll jump
Libraries are dying and this is the shit they worry about?
Do they not care about job security or are they content with only ever working in the school system?
On second thought, don't answer that.
Remember, wanting to keep politics out of something IS a political move, because a certain group desires politics to be a factor in every aspect of life, and therefore to seek neutrality and fairness, you actively act against their political aims.
I think its safe to say any institution funded by tax dollars is going to be pozzed to the core
Critical librarianship? Good lord.
