And then you get to the really nasty stuff. Voting, which would drastically reshape societal structure by giving easily swayed people who aren't capable of making informed decisions power over elections, and the people who have power over them get even more power.
As if that wasn't bad enough, you get into the really nasty stuff, that they didn't even want to touch on in the video; sex changes, and sex itself. If a child were said to be competent enough to make decisions in some areas, why not others? It's the nastiest of slippery slopes.
Also, even without thinking about what other actions this could lead to in regard to the 'child' component of this proposal, what about looking on the other end...the law itself? The State is saying it can change laws specifically to keep information from parents. Even if it doesn't lead to the nasty stuff, it's opened the door that it might. The government loses all credibility, and should immediately lose all future benefit of the doubt. They will go around a parent's choice, and do things to the younger generation. The generation which, down the line, may have children of their own. This is basically the State saying it doesn't need you, or anyone else. The State is malicious, and means to replace you.
