They are STILL holding on the this bullshit huh? The press was NEVER respectable. You can still easily look up GEORGE FUCKING WASHINGTON'S opinion of the press all the way back before he ever became the first President.
The press has ALWAYS been below even whores in terms of respectability. Their veneer of importance has always been a ruse.
The press is the enemy of the people.
In fairness, the media's credibility was carefully crafted by both themselves & the state since the 1940's; with a strong effort to support that narrative in Hollywood as part of the cultural zeitgeist.
Most people are not going to just assume that the press were always bad because they've almost only ever been told the opposite.
