Trump called Kim Jong Un "Rocketman" and then had a historic meeting with him in north Korea.

Though I have a feeling that was more of a case of not respecting anyone who won't stand up to him. A case of "if a guy waves his dick at you, you wave a bigger one back" combined with "(verbal) asskicking = friendship".
