Hmm, about the wokeness. There's some stuff that's REALLY subtle, subtle enough that you would not notice it if you weren't hyper-sensitive to it like I was. Especially since it fits into the setting of 1937 Europe - that makes me not even consider it wokeness at that point. At worst, just a manifestation of the leftist insistence on putting their pet minorities into media.

Very slight spoilers:
-Two of the male characters in the main character's memories are revealed to secretly have feelings for each other. It's a relatively throw-away line. One of those characters is found. He's being tortured by a creature, and he screams prayers and confessions and talks about how "god hates us and wants us to burn" - which could be taken as a reference to him being gay.
-There's a monster that used to be a South African member of the main character's expedition. When he goes into a blood frenzy and attacks her, he starts screaming about how her child is a half-breed and insults her lover (a French Arab, she met him on expeditions to Africa so it checks out). Basically, a fucking racist Amnesia monster. It's pretty funny and entirely fits into the setting too.

All in all, on a wokeness meter, I would rate it 1/10 - not quite 0/10, there's things one could interpret as wokeness, but I think it would be a bit of a mistake to do it, especially considering how competent the game is.

Fair enough, but Amnesia doesn't have that much to subvert, what, are you gonna make the main character "non-binary" in a fucking horror game? Who's going to take that seriously?

No wokeness so far, it's fucking Amnesia, lol. I do not consider a female protagonist wokeness, especially since the game has themes of birth, fertility and such, and heavy involvement of a corpulent fertility goddess. She's not married to a native Frenchman, but she's an explorer and an eccentric so it's entirely in-character.

Understandable, but I'm lucky to have a government that has been a slam dunk when it comes to any domestic policy. No ideology, full on infrastructure and economy. Shutting down businesses for a few days at a time (while compensating them) to slow the spread. You know - the kind of "shutdown" even most people here would be at least halfway okay with.

Although the foreign policy is honestly kind of despicable. We're very buddy buddy with China, but we're far enough away for it to not bite us in the ass, and we're too small to have any influence to fight against China anyway.

Be grateful they're not calling them "black birthing bodies". "Black bodies" is the disgusting shit I've seen before - as dehumanising as it gets.

Well my (Balkans) government gives me $30 if I get the vaccine, lmao. And does not restrict me in any way if I don't. And I actually trust my government, at least somewhat - I voted for them after all. I still won't get the vaccine for quite a while, if ever - I want to see if there's long term effects first.

Science is broken and co-opted, you linked me to an article that says one thing, and you could have linked me to a thousand articles that say the opposite. I don't give a shit. My trans friends transitioned (without having been exposed to creepy leftie cults) and went from utter wrecks of human beings to perfectly functional members of society that could hold down jobs, take on responsibilities, and be happy. I don't give a shit about your paid-off science, or the left's paid-off science.

Even with that said, the study says nothing except "trans people still face more issues after transitioning than the control group", which is useless information that anybody could have told you. It doesn't compare trans people who didn't transition to trans people who did transition.

Also, calling gender dysphoria "being uncomfortable in your body" is like calling PTSD or anxiety disorders "being a bit nervous", or schizophrenia "having a wild imagination".

You're clearly arguing in bad faith.

If the only way to relieve their symptoms that has ever been observed to do anything, you absolutely do.

You're a pathological contrarian. Stop letting the left live in your fucking head rent-free. Stop allowing the left to control what you believe. It's so fucking pathetic that you people don't think for yourselves, but look at what the left believes and just flip it upside down and call it a philosophy.

Fuck, dude, I usually don't read super long stuff like this, but I started skimming and I got pulled into it, hard. Thanks for sharing your experiences, it's very fascinating what you've gone through.

I can't exactly say I used to be an SJW but I was certainly being groomed into becoming one. I remember one particular time on tumblr when I realised just how fucked up all of the world is and how uncomfortable it would be to interact with people who aren't super progressive, since I saw them as evil. That thought was so interesting to me at the time that the moment crystallised in my mind perfectly.

I wasn't very active or pushy about it, although maybe I was, considering that I cut contact with a friend over his positive opinion of guns. That was pretty embarrassing. It felt kind of wrong to do even back then, but I felt like it was the "right thing to do". We're friends now, though we don't talk frequently. I just messaged him, you reminded me to chill with him some more, he's fun.

I also remember spending untold hours arguing about how SJWs were an unimportant internet thing and how they'd never actually affect reality in any way... And when I was even younger, I remember joining circlejerks about how evil and bigoted right-wingers are.

I was so obsessed with the scientific method, I believed that morality not only could, but must, dictate morality. I would still believe in science if it was political neutral ground. But politics have tainted science. The mechanics through which our societies used to determine what is true and what is false have been completely corrupted. We literally live in a post-truth world, thanks almost exclusively to the left.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the thing that finally redpilled me was, indeed, gamergate. It's what convinced me that leftism was irredeemably corrupt.

When treating the symptoms is the only way to be able to live with yourself, you treat the fucking symptoms.

I want to vent my frustration at what you're saying at you, but I know you mean well so it would be useless.

I've known several trans people for whom transition fixed almost every issue they had - and they were not involved in politics in any way, nor exposed to SJWs.

Stop being a fucking pathological contrarian. It's true that society's mechanisms of determining what is true and what is false have been co-opted and corrupted, but that doesn't mean everything you spout is true, it just means to be skeptical.

That only applies to people who accept the spiritual aspect of Christianity. Christian values, sure. Christian spirituality, no thank you.

I don't mind Jesus at all, I like him. But an identity unearned is an identity with no value.

He only banned the menthol ones. Because LITERALLY the goal is to only do good things for black people, not anyone else. It's "black lives matter" for a reason - only black lives matter.

Go eat police ass elsewhere while they stomp on your face and take away your rights, cocksucker.

-1
todiwan -1 points ago +1 / -2

Oh they will once they come for your guns or to arrest you for not wearing a mask inside your home, my little boot licker.

-6
todiwan -6 points ago +1 / -7

So you want your police to be able to oppress you like they do in the US?

Police not having guns is something to be commended, dude.
