To be fair it was a much different situation.

Menendez they had the evidence, it just...vanished.

Gaetz they never actually had any evidence.

Menendez has been a known pedophile and child abuser for decades.

I thought he was untouchable.

A few people have successfully won religious exemption lawsuits for COVID so it isn't a bad strategy.

I'm not sure if any worked against entities as large as the NBA but I'd say that is his strongest angle to start with.

This happened back in 2021 but she just got sentenced.

Yes, it is really that bad in Portland. Our DA has essentially legalized crime by certain demographics.

Ken Mauer is one of the longest-tenured referees in NBA history. His career spanned five decades and he officiated over 2,100 regular season games.

That all came to an abrupt end when he was forced out of the league for his faith-based objections to the hastily-developed COVID injection.

As further punishment, the NBA is now withholding Mauer’s pension and trying to bankrupt him in court.

Ken shares, “My story is like so many other Americans. My career was destroyed and my retirement put under threat because I stood up and said ‘no’ to forced medical procedures. The hypocrisy of the NBA is stunning, as they’re letting players PLAY, but I can no longer referee – a craft I spent my life doing and loved!”

My story is like so many other American citizens. If you don’t comply with the narrative, you need to be silenced. Well if you know me, I’m not very easy to silence.

That’s why I’m doing what I’m doing, suing the NBA for firing me and freezing my pension. I don’t even recognize the league I used to refer to as family.

They have proven this is no longer about basketball.

Good for this guy but he's going to get absolutely demolished by the NBA. He needs more refs and players to speak out but how many of those guys will do it now that they see the consequences?

I'm just admiring the hypocrisy of the Democrats running a candidate who refuses to denounce racism against blacks, but they can't do anything about it because he's a minority.

Hypocrisy is always worth pointing out. This guy is a perfect example of how they ignore problems in their 'own party' if it is inconvenient.

Next time they get their panties in a twist over a white republican you can remind them that people like De Leon are representatives of their party.

The fucking balls on this guy.

Last October, leaked audio from an October 2021 city council meeting shook up the council as it included racist remarks about the black child of former Councilman Mike Bonin.

The leaked conversation resulted in several resignations, including former city council president Nury Martinez (D). Martinez called Bonin’s black adopted son “ese changuito,” Spanish for “that little monkey.” She also claimed the child “needs a beatdown” because Bonin was “raising him like a little white kid.”

Not exactly a surprise to hear the Democrats talk like this, but when it leaked they all declared it 'unacceptable.' Funny how that's changed.

De León did not condemn Martinez’s remarks during the conversation, instead accusing Bonin of using his black son as a prop, similar to when Martinez “brings her Goyard bag or the Louis Vuitton bag.”

Doubling down.

De León faced multiple calls to resign from the city council, including from President Joe Biden.

He, however, denied the calls to resign, instead offering his apologies at the time, saying he “fell short of the expectations we set for our leaders” and that he will hold himself “to a higher standard.”

Remember this for later.

“There were comments made in the context of this meeting that are wholly inappropriate; and I regret appearing to condone and even contribute to certain insensitive comments made about a colleague and his family in private. I’ve reached out to that colleague personally,” De León added.

The usual bullshit PR apology.

Nearly one year later, he announced his reelection campaign. In an interview with Politico, he said his constituents supported him through the scandal.

“When a lot of people that I called my friends and allies turned away from me, my constituents had my back,” De León told Politico. “I understood in a deeper way the relationship that I had with my community and how that motivates and drives me. That’s why I’m still here. And that’s why I’m running.”

Hahahahahaha.

But wait! It gets better.

“The context of our conversation was about redistricting and ensuring equal representation,” he said. “You have to look no further than the maps that were drawn. Are they fully reflective of the demographics of the city? Not really.”

Latinos are the largest ethnic group in Los Angeles, making up nearly 48 percent of the population, while Black residents comprise 8 percent. There are currently five Latino members on the 15-member council (four when the recording was made) and three Black members.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

And here, the ULTIMATE response:

However, De León denounced those using the scandal to attack him, saying it is “a complete false narrative that is perpetuated to meet the opportunistic needs of those who are politically ambitious.”

"Ignore the evidence in front of your eyes."

I can't tell if this guy is secretly based or just totally unwilling to admit he's fucked and trying to play blacks and hispanics off each other.

Either way should be fun to watch.

I just picked a random video to link for the gameplay, I assume all the major game reviewers are nowadays.

That's actually surprising, I wonder why they didn't jam in any woke shit into the dialogue if she was a writer for the game.

No minority characters, no crappy feminist stuff, no trans or any 'current event' bullshit...I'm surprised they were able to hold themselves back from inserting it.

Perhaps pick it up for 100% discount then.

It isn't really a game, same with Edith Finch. Just wandering around and looking at stuff with some relatively linear action sequences and mild puzzles.

Good if you aren't looking for a challenge, but I wouldn't call either of them games. It isn't a surprise that people who love phone games latched onto something like Stray.

TerpenoidTester 1 point ago +4 / -3

I linked a review just for people to watch the gameplay, I have no idea if it is a good or bad review I didn't watch it.

I rarely go out of my way to recommend a game since I play so few but this is a weird little gem that I ended up 100% finishing, something I haven't done since whenever Super Meat Boy came out.

This is from Annapurna, who did the walking simulators Edith Finch and Stray which I both somewhat enjoyed. Good to play stoned but not exactly exciting.

I wasn't super excited about this but a friend kept bugging me to try it and it turns out to be exceptionally fun.

No woke shit, no fat, no shortcuts...this is a well designed game that people put a lot of love into. The voice acting is excellent, the writing is above expected, the story is somewhat interesting.

But man on man the mechanics...they are as tight as you can ask for. Nothing feels unfair, the levels go by at breakneck pace and precision is required at every moment, there are hundreds if not thousands of possible ways to finish a level.

And the best: the level design. Super interesting, varied, tons of unique approaches to the designs. Really beautiful and simple looking.

Overall an extremely pleasant game you can play for short spurts or hours with no difference in enjoyment. Really a throwback to older games.

I'm not a speedrunner nor do I watch that shit but I imagine this game would be popular for people who enjoy that stuff. Personally I just found it to be extremely well made and thoroughly enjoyable without any bullshit.

A rarity.

I love this part:

In Motherhood on Ice: The Mating Gap and Why Women Freeze Their Eggs, Marcia C. Inhorn, a medical anthropologist at Yale, tells this side of the story. Beginning in 2014, she conducted interviews with 150 American women who had frozen their eggs—most of them heterosexual women who wanted a partner they could have and raise children with. She concluded that, contrary to the commonly held notion that most professional women were freezing their eggs so they could lean into their jobs, “Egg freezing was not about their careers. It was about being single or in very unstable relationships with men who were unwilling to commit to them.”

Let me translate that into normal human speak: These bitches be fucking crazy and can't hold a relationship together.

Egg freezing is the natural solution to these women's delusion: that they aren't responsible for their own situation.

The researcher realized it but look at it from her perspective: she can't destroy her entire target audience for the study. So...the only option is to blame men for it and feed into their delusion to ensure financing continues.

And thus, the feminist grift continues unabated.

From that gameplay I'd have a hard time coughing up $3 for it. That's like a Flash game quality.

TerpenoidTester 10 points ago +10 / -0

It was actually in a $55 bundle a while ago as the 'main game' so technically it WAS in an indie bundle at some point.

I saw a few people complaining about how they wouldn't have bought the bundle if they knew.

Not sure how many people watch his reviews but this one...this one really deserves more of an audience.

I was not aware of the background to this game either, but the end product....holy shit. Selling for $37 on Steam right now.

Critics warn of privacy risks and the chilling of free speech.

How amusingly hypocritical.

EDIT: Oh man the statement from Meta is absurd.

Meta argued the subpoena violated its First Amendment rights by “prob[ing] and penaliz[ing]” its ability to perform editorial control over content posted on its platforms, while also violating its users’ First Amendment rights on the basis that it would dissuade them from participating in future discussions on controversial topics.

I know this may not seem like it is news worthy however I've been following this case for a while and the resulting lawsuit discovery is going to be MASSIVE.

The PPS basically targeted this guy because he refused to do a lot of the bullshit equity crap they require. He was the most popular and well liked teacher at this school so he saw himself as untouchable, and the PPS responded by essentially fucking him over from every angle they could.

Unfortunately they had no cause, so now that they've gone through with the firing he's planning to hit them hard back, no settlement.

Student walkouts and televised hearings have kept the issue on the minds of many in the Portland school community. Most staff termination decisions are handled behind closed doors, but Chu requested his case be held publicly.

“Whatever happens to me is inconsequential, ‘cause I win either way,” Chu told OPB before the meeting. “If they fire me, when we go into arbitration … we can subpoena folks. (If) they don’t fire me, then there’s a whole big mess they’ve got to clean up.

“They’re the ones on trial,” he said, “not me.”

I guarantee if you keep up with this story you'll get to see some of the truly horrific things they are demanding teachers do be exposed, as well as their internal communications about how to handle 'problematic' teachers.

Finally there's a teacher with some fucking balls.

I'm a huge fan of Mr. Show. I still think the skit about no number higher then 24 is one of the best written comedy sketches I've come across.

Shame what happened to Cross but he was excellent when he was younger.

This is a strange one, because he seems to admit that he's wrong and made a mistake.

“My doctor was a conservative. He got crankier and crankier the older he got,” the actor recalled.

“When I was 50, I went in, he was a heart doctor, Cedars Sinai, and he had signs up all around his office at this point –‘We do not accept Obamacare,’ and I fucking hated this side of him that I only learned over time.”

Odenkirk said he had been seeing the doctor for more than 20 years when the doctor told him: “You need to start taking statins right now.”

The actor said he ignored him and consulted another doctor who told him not to worry.

I wonder if he chose some young, female, minority Doctor for that 2nd opinion.

And I had a heart attack,” said Odenkirk. “And I think the first doctor was right, the cranky, conservative jackass was right, because he was a damn good doctor. His political point of view doesn’t have anything to do with his ability to judge your health and your health choices and needs.”

A moment of clarity.

“I’ve always felt that way about art, too,” Odenkirk said.

I still think this is 100% the mRNA shot he took but it is nice to see him publicly admit that he was wrong and his biases nearly got him killed.
