The only good thing i can say about him is that he got a lot of previously apolitical people involved in politics and moved them to the right. His party is even called "the political participation party" I only hope they stay on the right and are not swayed by him when he happens to switch his political positions like he changes clothes

I wonder if this was done on purpose....Find a controlled opposition candidate they want the right wing to support and just keep attacking him which would make him more popular with the right wing and make them turn a blind eye to the obvious con man behaviour they might show. . Well at least their slogan is better . They are saying "Japanese people first" rather than "Japan first" . Putting people first instead of state is already a big improvement from the "America First" slogan. Though to take it further i think they should say "Yamato people first"
When right wingers censor others they just directly say it and are transparent about who is doing the censoring and what and why and usually its passed through law with openness.

5% is still too much in my opinion. 5% can still do a lot of damage to the country. And if it were at maximum cap country wide it would be more foreigners than what Japan currently has which is 3% and those foreigners are having more children than Japanese people are.
And Japanese citizens are not nessessarily Japanese people. There's plenty of naturalized citizens who are not Japanese ethnics. Sanseito knows this which is why they don't allow naturalized citizens as party members, however unless Sanseito can freely admit that they just want to support Japanese Yamato ethnicity and not just citizens, this won't really work in the long term.
